We've talked about it for a couple weeks now, what to expect, how long she'll be there, and all the friends she'll meet. Everyone woke up in a good mood and made a great effort to get out the door on time. Dropping Zoey off went smoothly. We signed her in, left her bookbag in her cubby, hugs and kisses, and she was off to find new friends! By the time I got to the car I was near tears, but never looked back. I knew she was in good hands and was about to embark on the first of many first days. Since she started playing soccer we've seen her blossom from a shy little girl to a very social and open young lady. Soccer gave her the confidence in herself that she needed, something we obviously couldn't do. I'm very thankful for her amazing coach and his patience with her! It definately set her up to have a wonderful first day of preschool! When she got in the car to come home she told me that Friday is hotel day. Not knowing what she was talking about we discussed it a bit more and turns out that 'hotel day' is actually show and tell day! She's come up with about 50 zillion things she wants to take, so it will be very interesting to see what she comes up with. Either way, hotel day will be a great day at preschool!

Flu who?

Winter's been sick since Wednesday with a fever of over 101. So when she woke up today with a fever of 103 (and after a zillion phone calls to the nurse hotline and an urgent care that had 16 people in it's waiting room) we decided a trip to the er was in order. After 3 hours, she was diagnosed with the flu. So now we have a diagnosis. However, it does nothing to cure the whinyness, crabbiness, snots, boogers, and general unhappiness of the 27 month old laying around here. We've all been sick and hopefully we'll be getting a break very very soon! The girls all have colds again, and we've all been short on sleep. Winter's been up a minimum of 2 times per night. Kelsie's had a couple nights now where she's been up. Zoey ended up in bed with me last night, and that was a habit I thought we'd broken. Some nights I'm just for whatever gets us the most sleep.

Since the lack of sleep we've all been a bit crabby and testing the paitience of each other. And it seems the kids have been hit with the rotten stick. Take tonight for instance. The neighbor gave them these 2 garden gnome looking things that are full of sand. They love these silly looking gnomes and have given them a home atop the book shelf in the play room. While I was feeding Kels her bottle tonight, they were supposed to be cleaning up their playroom. Well, when the kids get quiet, they've either put themselves to bed like good little kids or gotten into something they shoudn't have. I didn't notice it at first, I walked past the play room and to the naked eye it appeared they were just playing with kitchen stuff. But them Winter said something about sand on her hand. And I stopped. The gnome full of sand. Yeah, he wasn't so full of sand anymore. As a matter of fact, that sand was all over the kitchen playset and the playroom floor. I sent them to the couch until I could get Kelsie in bed and the sand in the playroom swept up...what a mess! So I get the girls pj's on, teeth brushed, and them in bed and I sit down to fold some laundry. Sand. All. Over. My. Couch. Guess sending them to the couch to sit while I cleaned up the playroom wasn't such a great idea. Now I'll be spending some time vacuuming the couch tomorrow. Hopefully after getting a good night's rest.

Somehow I just don't think that's going to happen.

Shutterfly

So Shutterfly (oh how I love you Shutterfly!) has given me 10 free cards. Only, I'm not sure what kind of cards I want. And if I did, I don't know what picture(s) to use. I need a good photographer. Either that or I should learn how to use the manual settings on my camera to get what I want. Too bad it didn't come with a manual. Perhaps I'll find some info on the great world wide web. That's a beginning. Better hurry, Shutterfly's promo ends January 31.

And someone please tell me how the month of January is already gone.
